Disability Pride Month

Written on 07/26/2024

Did you know July is Disability Pride Month?!

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil right law that prohibits discrimination based on disabilities. The ADA law went into effect July 26,1990 and prohibited discrimination against people with disabilities in schools, workplaces, transportation, and other spaces and places open to the public.  All month long we encourage individuals to celebrate and recognize Disability Pride Month and end the stigma surrounding people living with disabilities.
