As per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, you can be around others after:
- 10 days since symptoms first appeared AND
- 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever reducing medications AND
- Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving
The loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not to delay the end of isolation.
Please note that most people do not require testing to decide when they can be around others. However, here at Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo Health Center we are going the extra step to give the patient’s a piece of mind in regards to their current COVID-19 status. We provide a Rapid Viral COVID-19 test after the completion of the 10 day isolation period.
